Puppet Labs is staying busy. They just released a new service, Puppet Enterprise, aimed at simplifying installation and integration of Puppet and also includes bundled services and support. This is a big step forward for Puppet Labs in being able to support larger organizations that have higher support needs and provides a promising business model for Puppet Labs moving forward.
Luke Kanies, founder of Puppet Labs, had this to say about the new offering:
“Puppet Enterprise represents an important step in the evolution of the Puppet open source project. Over the last five years, thousands of companies have made Puppet a core part of their systems infrastructure, using it to manage their most vital IT assets,” said Luke Kanies, CEO of Puppet Labs. “Puppet Enterprise means users can be more productive in less time, with less effort. It further reduces the barrier to adoption and cements Puppet as the best solution for managing systems in the enterprise, the cloud, or any other environment.”
Check out their press release or Luke’s blog for more details. This is great to see and I wish them the best of luck with their new offering.
